Delivering to Canterbury Combined Court Centre: what to know
What is heard at Canterbury?
Criminal, civil and family work under one roof: the Crown Court, the County Court and the Family Court hearing centre, in a purpose-built building that opened in July 1995. It serves much of east Kent, so firms in Thanet, Dover, Folkestone and Ashford send documents here as well as those in the city. Address each envelope to the right court and case.
What will the driver do when they arrive?
Hand your documents to the counter or your named recipient, such as counsel or your agent at court. Counter service is by appointment, so give us the appointment time or the recipient’s name and mobile. There is free public parking at or near the court, which keeps the handover quick. We deliver; we do not file, issue or pay court fees for you.
How long will it take, and how will I know it arrived?
From Maidstone the driver takes the M20, A249 and M2, then the A2, around 28 to 30 miles. From Ashford it is the A28, and from Thanet the A299 and A28. For most jobs your documents stay with one driver from your desk to the handover, and proof of delivery records the recipient’s name and exact time. Cover up to £100 is standard; tell us if anything is worth more and, where extra cover can be arranged, we confirm the level and any cost before you accept.

Less handling on the way
For most same-day jobs, your consignment travels directly with the assigned driver. It is not normally taken to a depot, sorted or moved between vehicles.

We match the vehicle to your job, from a motorcycle for documents to a 7.5-tonne lorry with tail-lift for pallets, so you're not paying for spare capacity.
You know where it is
The driver keeps you updated while the job is running, and proof of delivery gives you the recipient's name and the time of handover.
Cover agreed before you book
