Delivering to Edinburgh: what to know
How does the driver get to Edinburgh?
Up the A1. From mid-Kent the driver takes the M20 and M26 to the M25, joins the A1(M) at South Mimms and heads north through Yorkshire, Tyneside and Northumberland, crossing into Scotland near Berwick. North of Newcastle the A1 has single-carriageway stretches, which is why the time is a range. If the A1 is closed or badly delayed, the M1, M6 and M74 is the fallback.
Where in Edinburgh can you deliver?
Anywhere in the city. Financial and legal documents usually go to the Exchange District around Lothian Road and Morrison Street, home to the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Parts and pallets tend to head west to Edinburgh Park and South Gyle Industrial Estate, near the City Bypass and the airport, or north to Leith and the Forth Industrial Estate at Granton. The business parks are easier for a van or larger vehicle than the city-centre streets.
What should I tell you?
Your collection postcode, the Edinburgh address, what is going and any deadline. For a morning deadline in Edinburgh, collection in Kent the evening before is usually needed. We come back with a price and the earliest collection time. Cover up to £100 is included; if your goods are worth more, give us the approximate value and, where extra cover can be arranged, we confirm the level and any cost before you accept.

The Same Day Couriers Kent difference
Less handling on the way
For most same-day jobs, your consignment travels directly with the assigned driver. It is not normally taken to a depot, sorted or moved between vehicles.
The vehicle you actually need
We match the vehicle to your job, from a motorcycle for documents to a 7.5-tonne lorry with tail-lift for pallets, so you're not paying for spare capacity.
You know where it is
The driver keeps you updated while the job is running, and proof of delivery gives you the recipient's name and the time of handover.
Cover agreed before you book
Every consignment includes cover up to £100. Worth more? Tell us the value and, where extra insurance can be arranged, we confirm the cover and cost before you accept.
