Delivery details
Delivering to Medway County Court, Chatham: what to know
Where exactly do I send it?
To the separate HMCTS entrance at Gun Wharf, not the council’s main reception. The court left Anchorage House on Chatham High Street when its lease ended, and that building is no longer a court, so update any old address. Gun Wharf has six hearing rooms and sits by the river near the Chatham waterfront. The court is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
Is it the right court for my documents?
Only for civil and family work: County Court claims such as debt and housing disputes, and Family Court hearings. There is no Crown Court at Gun Wharf, so criminal papers belong at a Crown Court centre such as Maidstone. Civil and family work have separate enquiry routes.
What does the courier do, and how long does it take?
Collect from your office, drive direct and hand your bundle, statements or originals to the court counter or your named recipient. We deliver; we do not file, issue or pay court fees for you. From Maidstone the driver takes the A229 over Blue Bell Hill, around 9 to 11 miles, typically 20 to 35 minutes; from Sittingbourne and Faversham, the A2 and A278. Proof of delivery records the recipient’s name and exact time. Cover up to £100 is standard; tell us if anything is worth more and, where extra cover can be arranged, we confirm the level and any cost before you accept.
